Volume and expression pedals

Volume and expression pedals

An expression pedal is a device used primarily with musical instruments and audio equipment to control various parameters in real-time, such as volume, modulation effects (like wah or tremolo), pitch, or other effects. It typically consists of a foot-operated pedal connected to a potentiometer or other sensor, which sends control signals to the equipment it's connected to.

Expression pedals are commonly used with guitar effects pedals, synthesizers, keyboards, and MIDI controllers. By using an expression pedal, musicians can manipulate parameters dynamically while playing, adding expressiveness and creativity to their performances. They're especially popular among guitarists, allowing them to control effects parameters or volume without having to use their hands, thus providing greater freedom and flexibility during live performances.
