Ukuleles

Ukuleles

The ukulele is a small-sized string instrument developed in Hawaii in the 19th century, with a delightfully cheerful and recognizable sound. Basically, you could call it a four-string guitar. Ukelele is also called uke by another name. The ukulele is a good instrument for beginners, as it is easy to get to know the world of stringed instruments. The sound and volume of the ukulele vary depending on the size and construction. The ukulele arrived in Finland during the 1920s, and after a while, it was already advertised in music stores as a real instrument. Today there are several ukulele orchestras in Finland. Ukulele is common in teaching and band use, playing is taught in civic colleges and schools all over Finland.

The most common ukulele types from smallest to largest

There are four different sizes of ukuleles. The most common of the ukuleles, the soprano ukulele is the smallest and brightest of all. The larger-sized, concert, tenor, and baritone ukuleles have a fuller sound. There is also a bass ukulele that is tuned like a real bass guitar.
