The Guiro, 2-Tone block combines the playing styles of ratchet (guiro) and tubular drum (tone block). So you can create the characteristic ratchet sound by using the mallet to wipe over the grooves on one side of the sound body. You can also "drum" two different tones with the mallet.
Holding the guiro 2-tone block in its center, the sound body is each to the left and to the right of it. The instrument is made of local beech wood, finished with a very thin layer of lacquer. Its texture makes this instrument very interesting especially for children, as they can try playing different types of sounds.
